The lag since my last post is not for lack of things to share, but more from being too busy having fun. I took photos, but didn’t write anything but my articles for The Standard Times. If any of you are on Facebook and haven’t followed or liked my page I do share the recipes there: www.Facebook.com/deborahwhodishes/. Give me a like or a follow and you’ll see the weekly recipes and photos.
Steve got his birthday wish; dinner at Nick-San and a bottle of Champagne. The restaurant has two locations, Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo. Our usual is close to our timeshare in Cabo San Lucas, but we were staying for just a night in San Jose before leaving for Cabo Pulmo, so I let Steve choose and he opted for the closer spot. While at the sushi bar enjoying Veuve Clicquot and tuna sashimi with crispy shallots and truffle sauce (yes, it’s as good as it sounds), we glanced out the windows overlooking Palmilla Resort to see a professional fireworks display. “Happy 60th birthday, honey!” I said, “Those are for you!” He turned to me with a look of horror on his face. It’s truly impressive that my husband thinks I could pull off professional fireworks outside a restaurant we didn’t know we’d be visiting an hour beforehand. He settled down when I assured him I didn’t have the cash for an operation that big.
It was exactly what he wanted, a low-key birthday (with the exception of the fireworks scare).
We spent the next week in Cabo Pulmo, relaxing, snorkeling, reading (me) and playing guitar (him). Here are some favorite shots from the week.

The fish and the birds were as glorious as always, I managed to see one beautiful sunrise (because I couldn’t get my butt out of bed early enough on the other days), and I discovered who besides the hummingbirds, woodpeckers and orioles likes the hummingbird nectar.
Geckos!
Next up – on to Cabo San Lucas…
Debra & Steve, I am very late, I know, but…… Wishing Steve a Very Special 60th Year ahead!!!!! You both plan such fine adventures and…… that is the very pleasure of life together. I love the fish photos, coming from a true Pisces girl. One of my favorite sea critter that I first saw in a California aquarium was the Leafy Sea Dragon. They float like a seahorse with a leaf like body. So beautiful. I think fireworks on your birthday is a real treat, Steve. And 60 is so deserving. In May… we are hoping to visit Joan and Chris. The 4 of us are hoping the Porter Center is clear of their flu epidemic by May 9, 10, 11 when we plan the visit. Continue your fun adventures and share when you can. Love to Both of You, Linda & John
