The Chipman Inn, a beautiful property in Ripton Vermont is for sale. The inn was owned twice by my mother-in-law, the late Joan Bullock. She bought and ran it in the 1970’s, sold it in the 80’s and repurchased it in 2012. She and son Chris ran the business until Joan’s health issues no longer allowed her to live at home, and since then Chris has run the inn solo. It’s time for a change and this special place is now available to another family who can run it as an inn, and airbnb or VRBO, or just use it as a family compound or retreat.
The Chipman Inn is close to the Bread Loaf Writer’s Conference campus as well as Rikert Nordic Skis area, the winter cross country ski mecca. It’s down the road from the Middlebury Snow Bowl, and 7 miles from Middlebury College and the idyllic town of Middlebury. The inn is being sold fully furnished, and many upgrades have been added in the past few years.
